Equinox Wellness Family Event (Culture Days)

Families and adults, teenagers alike are invited to (Register here) come spend an afternoon (or whatever time works for you) in the lush ravine environment soaking up the healthy air and nature’s beauty with others. Once we give of ourselves to this magical space by caring for it, we quickly receive rewards of lower stress, physical fitness and positive mood. This day the rewards are endless as we follow-up the park care activities with Yoga for adults while kids get to do a nature discovery walk and crafting program (parents can join if that is preferred). Please register for Yoga seperately so we know to expect you using the Yoga store item (there is nominal $5 fee). Then, we gather together around a fire and reflection circle to welcome the Autumn season. Fall is a time that gives us colour and much richness in nature’s harvest. Everyone leaves feeling more relaxed and fulfilled. See details below.

Agenda:

12:00-2:00pm Volunteer, enjoy Nature’s Reciprocity

There’s a role for everyone in keeping the beautiful Butterfly Habitat Garden of the Ecology Centre thriving.

We will cut back stems, tidy the paths and check in on the Monarch Way Station to learn about the role our garden can play in their success in Canada. Did you know the Monarch …. We have lots of little gloves and little tools for budding gardeners and kids that like to dig! And lots of bigger ones too... A great way to spend time discovering nature’s gifts as a family and feeling the rewards of helping it succeed.

2:00-3:00 pm Yoga Under Trees + Kids Program

While parents take care of themselves with a chance for relaxation and stretching, we have a program for your kids with a short discovery walk and crafting. Yoga instructor, Maha, wants you to feel the benefits of breath and mindful relaxation. Kid’s program leader Tunde will engage your kids in the wonders of nature and a fun craft.

3:00-4:00 pm Equinox Seasonal Changes Circle

We gather around the magical fire to open our hearts to a new season, full of endless possibilities.

Leader, Maha, will provide guidance on setting intensions for our journey of letting go of summer and embracing fall’s new energies for self-empowerment.
